John Beyrent holds degrees from Wilkes University (PA) and Mansfield State University, and has done graduate work at both the New England Conservatory and Penn State University. He has recently retired after having been a music educator for 35 years. In addition to the Carter Mountain Brass Band, John conducts the Gilford Community Band. He plays with the Yankee Brass Band and is a founding member of the Belknap Brass Quintet. He also has had several original compositions and many arrangements for band, brass and woodwind ensembles published.
